Pindari Glacier is one of the easy-to-trek adventure trips promised by the state of Uttaranchal in India. History of Pindari Glacier
Pindari Glacier owes its origination to the process of snow precipitation from Nanda Devi peak and other peaks located in this region. The glacier gets its name from Pindar River, which originates from this glacier only.

Location
Pindari Glacier is located in Pindari Valley at a height of 3627 m. This area is located between the peaks of Nanda Devi and Nandakot, in Kumaon region of Himalayas. To be more precise, the glacier belongs to Patti Malla Danpur of Bageshwar district in Uttaranchal.

How to Reach Pindari Glacier

  • Nearest airport: Pantnagar Airport is at a distance of 127 km from Almora, from where you can hire local transport service to reach Pindari Glacier.
  • Nearest Railway Head: Kathgodam Railway Station, from where you can reach Almora and continue the trip to Pindari Glacier.
  • By Road: You can reach Song, which is connected to Almora, Bageshwar and Kathgodam via road. From here, the trek is 45 km to reach the glacier.

At this glacier, you can expect the climate of this place to be extremely cool. You must visit the glacier in months mentioned above to enjoy wonderful climatic conditions.
