Kihim Beach Print E-mail

Kihim Beach, a village of Alibag in Maharashtra, is swathed in beauty tempered with a touch of Indianness in its air. It bubbles with conventional ebullience. The village is a municipal council in Raigad District in the Konkan coast.

Not more than 120 km from Mumbai, at the Kihim beach, in the mornings, as you sit at a café and sip hot coffee, birds fly by, wing beats slicing the silence of the village which has just woken up. The whole beach is enveloped in silence and the serene spirituality that comes from an isolated location.

The sandy beach is studded with coconut trees dancing like hula dancers. The ride on ferries to the beach is the most wonderful part of the trip to the beach. Hiring a Catamaran is another option to reach this picnic destination, but not as exciting as the former

History of Kihim Beach
