Miramar Beach is the closest beach to Panjim, the capital city of Goa. From the outskirts of Panjim, one has to walk or bike only 3 kilometres away to reach a marvellous stretch of white powdery sands and the warm welcoming waters of the Arabian Sea – Miramar beach.
This beach enjoys easy access from the resorts in Panjim, thanks to its proximity from the city. This proximity also facilitates easy shopping from peddlers who sell anything from trinkets, drinks, to clothes and souvenirs at inanely cheap prices. Nonetheless, luxury resorts have now established themselves on the beach itself.
Notwithstanding the closeness of Miramar beach to the capital city of Panjim, the beach, in itself, is clearly an attraction. It boasts of a wide beach that is capable of hosting a large number of beach goers. Here, one can rest and relax away from the cacophony of city life and tourists take a breather here before proceeding to other far-flung beaches. From Miramar beach, one can get a panoramic view of the Aguada Fort, which was built by the Portuguese several hundred years ago as a defence against invading enemies coming from the sea. The side streets of the beach are lined with palm trees.

Aside from the beauty and relaxing atmosphere of the beach, the other attractions here include water sports facilities like water skiing, snorkelling, paragliding, parasailing and scuba diving. For the less adventurous, activities like dolphin spotting, boat riding, and fishing are also offered on the beach.
Best Time to Visit Miramar Beach and Clothes to Wear
Miramar beach is at its best from November to March. Beach-wear like bathing suits, walking shorts, bikinis and the likes are recommended with a heavy dose of sun block. Cover-ups are recommended for short walks along the beach or for local shopping.

How to Reach Miramar Beach
Miramar Beach can be reached simply by road from the city of Panjim. For people travelling by air, the nearest airport is Dabolim, which is 29 kilometres from Panjim. Buses and taxis ply from the airport to Panjim and Miramar beach. Panjim has its own railway station, which is well connected to other parts of India. This city is also well-connected by road and buses and taxis ply regularly from the major cities in India to the former.

One of the other attractions near Miramar Beach is the Portuguese built fort, Fort Aguada. The other attraction is the bright city of Panjim, a few kilometres away from Miramar, apart from the beach itself.
