Versova Beach Print E-mail

The enchanting view of the horizon at the Versova Beach during the twilight is a wonderful delight. The beach is a residence of the conventional Koli fishing community.

Besides the weekend crowd and attractions, on weekdays the long stretch of sandy beach provides an ideal place for peaceful strolls along the coast, checking out coffee shops and lounging poolside at the beach front hotels with a splendid view of the coast, visiting Juhu Beach located towards the Southern end of Juhu or the Hare Krishna ISKCON complex nearby.

Fun is seen overflowing here amidst the vast sea and under the vast sky. The monstrous waves are a matter of concern as one goes close to the water; the waves can devour large boats and huts in one go. In short, a visit to the beach is full of fun and frolic and out of danger until you make it one.

History of Versova Beach
The term ‘Versova’ means ‘rest’. The beach gets its name from this word. The reason is historic; the beach was a resting place for the knights of the sea under the Marathas after fighting the wars on the sea.
