Achalgarh Print E-mail

Achalgarh is a small village located in Rajmachi in Mount Abu. The place is famous for "Achalgarh Fort". The fort is the live evidence of existence of sound engineering techniques during the medieval period.

Achalgarh is famous for sharing its space with glorious Indian history. The village is famous for its fort and closeness to Mount Abu. It is a good experience to visit this place and trace the remains of medieval period of history. 

Attractions of Achalgarh

  • Achalgarh Fort: The main attraction of Achalgarh is the Achalgarh Fort. The fort is located at a distance of about 8 km from Mount Abu and is huge and gigantic. It is well connected to road and has huge battlement walls. The fort is not only famous for its walls, but is also famous for the picturesque view of the surroundings provided to the visitors. The Jain Temples are just ten min climb from the Fort.
  • Achleshwar Temple: Located within the Achalgarh Fort premises, this temple was built around the print of Lord Shiva’s toe and is in existence since 9th century. The temple contains an idol of Lord Shiva along with the 'shivalinga'.
  • Kantinath Temple: Located in the interior of the fort, this temple is in existence since 16th century.

Achalgarh is located at a distance of around 11 km from Mount Abu, a famous hill station in South-West of Rajasthan.

Tourist attractions near Achalgarh

  • Naki Lake: Located in Mount Abu, this lake is called as the heart of Mount Abu.
  • Mount Abu Wild Life Sanctuary: This wild life sanctuary is around 15 km away from Achalgarh and is located in Mount Abu.
  • Dilwara Jain temples in Mount Abu: Dilwara Jain Temples, located at a distance of 11 km from Achalgarh are in Mount Abu and are famous for their carvings.
