Ahar is a tourist attraction located in Udaipur and is also known by the name of Ahaad and Anandpura. It is famous for hosting various ancient and historical temples containing beautiful piece of art and sculptures.
Ahar was believed to be the capital of ancient Mewar. It is believed that this place was the residential place for the 'Sisodias' or "Gehlots'.
Attractions of Ahar
- Temples: Different temples found in Ahar are in existence since centuries. Most famous of these are the Temple of Mira Bai, Adinath Temple and the Mahavir temple built in around 15th century.
- Mahasatia: This consists of 19 chattris, each for 19 rulers of Mewar, also called as royal cenotaphs. The chattries contain carving of Lord Shiva. They denote the cremation of 19 rulers. The cenotaph of Maharana Amar Singh is quite famous and spectacular as he was the first Maharana, who was cremated at this place.
- Archaeological Museum: Contains limited and rare exhibits of different age old items preserved since 10th century. Presents visitors with excavates of dhulkot, a township that was in existence some 4000 years ago.

Ahar is located at a distance of approximately 3 km to the east of famous city of Udaipur in Rajasthan.
