The inherent charms of the city’s rich past come from both Hindu and Islamic cultures giving it a truly secular look. Just a day would not be enough to whet the aesthetic and intellectual appetite of the visitor, for there are lakes and parks, museum, heritage buildings, and excellent Bidri and Kinkhab handicrafts given life to by masters in the art.
History of Hyderabad
Hyderabad was founded 400 years by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, a ruler of Qutb Shahi dynasty on the banks of River Musi after a water shortage in Golconda. Earlier, Hyderabad was a part of Golconda Kingdom of Qutb Shahis, who ruled from the Golconda fortress that stands majestically atop a hillock just beside the modern city. The Iconic monument ‘Charminar’ was constructed based on his order as a gratitude to God for preventing many damages from the plague outbreaks in 1591.
