Nehru Planetarium is situated in Teen Murti Bhawan, the official residence of the first prime minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The planetarium was established in 1964 with the objective to promote astronomy education.

Nehru Planetarium is basically a wing of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, which are must-visit destinations besides the planetarium. The main objective of the planetarium is to promote astronomy education, especially among children. Hence, apart for conducting regular public shows, the planetarium conducts several workshops and events throughout the year.
Timings
Nehru Planetarium conducts are number of shows like the Live Planetarium Show, which is executed for school groups at 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on all days except Mondays, and Sky Show, which is conducted at 12:30 PM on Sundays and other Gazette holidays. Apart from these special shows, public shows are also conducted in Nehru Planetarium between 11:30 PM and 4:00 PM. The planetarium observes weekly holiday on Mondays.
