A beautiful and scenic place, Pantnagar is situated Udham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand. Counted in one of the untouched and unblemished natural places, Pantnagar is well connected with all the well known states such as Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Its premeditated and strategic location is surrounded by various places of tourist attractions such as Corbett National Park.  

The untouched and unspoiled town of Pantnagar is well known and famous for its educational institutes as well as industries. In other words it is a mix town of institutions and industries. Pantnagar is illustrious in bearing the first and foremost Agriculture University of India in 1960 and is very much renowned for producing the top most agriculturist and horticulturist in the world. It is often seen as a small and remote town but is sparkling with all the natural and scenic beauty.

Attractions of Pantnagar
The main attraction which the Pantnagar holds for its visitors is the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology formerly known as Pantnagar University. This university is much synonymous with the birth place of the green revolution in India. Pantnagar University is one of the finest and superior built universities around the world which is inclusive of Foreign Exchange University.

Shopping arenas in the town includes two main markets, very near to the university. These are Badee market (big market) and Chotti Market (Small market) well laden with all the necessities required.

For a walk in the fresh air, one can stroll across in the two main parks of the town – Gandhi Nagar and Ambedkar Park, both dedicated to the freedom fighters of India.

The university bus is well connected to all the major bus terminals, highways as well railway station for easy access to the town.

While in Pantnagar, one can avail the honors of a luxury hotel without compromising on their budget. The Ginger hotel in Pantnagar is a budget hotel owned by the owners of Taj group of Luxury hotels.

Location of Pantnagar
Situated in Uttarakhand, Pantnagar communicates with the rest of the world through Delhi – Nanital National Highway and the Bareilly Nanital National Highway. Whilst metering the distance, it is just 65 km from Nanital and 250 km from Delhi by road. Its distance on road from Lucknow and Bareilly is 360 km and 75 km respectively.

How to Reach Pantnagar

  • By road – Pantnagar is connected by the Uttarakhand roadways to nearby towns and cities such as Haldwani, Udham Singh Nagar and Bareilly.
  • By rail – the town is served by the two railway stations – Pantnagar station at Nagla and Haldi Road Station at Haldi Road.
  • By air – Pantnagar owns its own airport in the Terai of Kumoan region. Commercial services are unavailable in this airport but a private carrier operates regular flights from Delhi to Pantnagar.

Other Tourist attractions near Pantnagar
By withdrawing themselves from the charm of the naturally scenic Pantnagar, one can roam around to see the other places of tourist attraction. Around and near the town, there are two of the most visited places – Corbett national Park and Govind Life sanctuary.
