Mukteshwar, one of the few places providing a beautiful landscape and a view of the Himalayas, is considered to be an ideal hill station. The surrounding orchard trees and coniferous forests give this place a boost from the tourism point of view. 

Mukteshwar is considered to be one of the best places to come view the Himalayas, as it offers a 180 degres view of the mountains covered fully by snow. Regarding the housing and accommodations, colonial bungalows still exist here, which were established by the British. Taking long treks and going for walks in Mukteshwar can be quite fun and enjoyable. The scenery gives one a sense of satisfaction of being on a peaceful holiday.

History of Mukteshwar
There isn't much known about the history of Mukteshwar but what is known is that the British set up the colonial bungalows here as they sought holiday peace in this place. Also a very famous veterinary Institute had been set up by the British which still is running till date. Going back furthur into the history of gods, it is here at this very place where Lord Shiva granted the wish of immortality to a demon but as the demon tried gaining advantage of that Lord Shiva had killed him at this very spot as well. This makes this place a very sacred and great tourist attraction to see how Lord Shiva actually granted wishes of his devotees.

Special Attractions in Mukteshwar
Mukteshwar is most famous for its Himalayan view and how beautiful the snow looks from this place on the mountains. Some of the most famous peaks seen from here include Neelkantha, Trishul, Nandaghunti, Nandadevi and the Panchchuli. One of the most famous attractions in Mukteshwar include the Shiva Temple, which has a big turnout, specially during the night of Shiva. The temple is constructed from beautiful white marbles. Also, right next to the temple is another famous attraction which is the Chauli Jali, a huge cliff made up of rock, and its sticking out of the hillside. There is also a belief that if a woman wants a child, all they have to do is tough this jali and they'll be blessed with one.

Best Time to Visit Mukteshwar
There isn't any specifc time to visit Mukteshwar, but for taking advantage of the full sightseeing in Mukteshwar, all months, apart from August to September should be best for visiting Mukteshwar. August to September is the rainy season and should be avoided.
